Personal Flag
This piece was created as a representation of all that I am and the things that contribute to who I am. For inspiration, I looked to the texture and order of the kente cloth and the placement of blocks or orientation style of Kazimir Malevich’s artwork: “Suprematist Painting” (1915).
I chose this color scheme to represent the Haitian and American flag because my family is from Haiti whereas I was the only one in my immediate family born in the United States.
The bottom half of the flag seems more organized and less disoriented as a visualization of America; whereas the top half has no uniformity but barely remains together as a unit much like Haiti at the moment after all she's been through.
Abstract Owl
As inspiration for this piece I looked into how others saw and more often than not what popped up were references to my big eyes. Therefore, I chose to create an abstract version of an owl using shapes and blank space.
Identity
For this piece, I was inspired by the song “Runnin’ (Lose It All)” by Naughty Boy featuring Beyoncé and Arrow Benjamin. "If I lose myself, I lose it all," was a quote from the song that stood out to me and proved to be the foundation of this piece and its meaning.
The concept that is explored in the collage is that of identity and one's perception of self. This piece speaks volumes to me because having struggled with my identity before and overcoming that, I can relate to and share the importance of securing who you are and staying true to it in all that you do.

Magazine Redesign
An assignment completed in class, I was tasked with 'redesigning' a magazine according to an article from a magazine or online journal.
The article is an op-ed from ebony.com written by Kevin K. Gaines. Titled "How Racial Divisions at Colleges Start in a Segregated Society," the article spoke of nationwide on-campus protests that were occurring steadily in the spring of 2016 and the roots of the cause.
I came up with this design of the article and magazine layout because it related to the spirit of the article and times as well as represented the perspective from which the op-ed came.
Business Card
Themed business card as part of senior portfolio.
Dada Book
I consider this piece one of my most challenging projects. It consisted of many steps that proved to be interesting to execute.
It began with the selection of an article, scissors, and a bag in order to create the Dada Poem that is shown as the cover. From the poem, a theme was established for the book to follow.
Each of the pages are inspired by the page before it while reflecting the theme adopted. The book also consists of different components that include: a photograph, color paper, something scanned, text, a drawing, a monochromatic image, and a vector Illustration.
